Our three-phased approach, called Integrated Energy Management, lets you assess your energy usage, implement an effective strategy to reduce it and evaluate your success to continually enhance and maintain an energy-smart business.

Take advantage of PG&E audits, benchmarking, energy efficiency rebates, load management discounts, self-generation rebates (solar, wind, fuel cells, and other qualifying technologies), carbon offsets (PG&E’s ClimateSmart™ program) and pricing plans at low or no cost.

Energy Management Services
PG&E offers energy solutions, services, pricing plans and programs for your specific energy needs. Use your account representative as a free energy management consultant to help customize a solution that will help you maximize “green” both financially and environmentally.   

We offer a variety of assessments at no cost to point you in the right direction when it comes to achieving your energy goals.

Onsite Energy Assessments
Business customers can request an onsite energy assessment. Your PG&E account representative can conduct an on-site audit to help you identify potential steps you can take to save energy and money at your business. PG&E’s Automated Benchmarking Service (ABS)
A new statewide Assembly Bill now requires all non-residential facilities to
report their ENERGY STAR® score at the time of sale, lease, or refinance.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company's (PG&E) new Automated Benchmarking
Service (ABS) is a FREE feature that enables your buildings monthly
energy use to be automatically uploaded into EPA’s ENERGY STAR®
Portfolio Manager. Now, there’s no need to manually enter your usage data or spend days catching up. More information is available at PG&E Benchmarking.

LEED Certification
PG&E can help your business with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, a nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance.

PG&E offers customers a free consultation with a LEED account representative who can help you meet the goals of the LEED program, as well as identify financial rebates and incentives.

Energy Efficiency Rebates and Incentives

Non Residential Retrofit Program
PG&E provides incentives for upgrading to high-efficiency equipment and systems. All customized retrofit projects must obtain a pre-field inspection and pre-approval.

Non Residential New Construction
PG&E’s Savings by Design Program, administered by California’s four investor-owned utilities under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), provides commercial, industrial, high-tech and agricultural customers with technical design assistance, incentives, tools and resources for energy efficient building design.

Retrofits in Existing Facilities
PG&E’s provides customized financial incentives for businesses that complete building upgrade projects to increase energy efficiency and reduce electrical demand.

Rebates for Small Business Existing Facilities
PG&E provides rebates for qualifying energy-efficiency equipment listed in our rebate catalogs. Simply purchase PG&E approved products, install, and apply for your rebate. More information is available at our Rebates & Incentives site.

Retro-Commissioning
PG&E provides assistance to customers who upgrade and improve the energy efficiency of existing building equipment, lighting, and control systems. It’s an efficient, affordable alternative to retrofitting. Download the Retro-commissioning Fact Sheet for more information.

Lighting Upgrades
PG&E provides incentives and technical support to business customers for installing qualifying energy efficient lighting and HVAC technologies. More information is available at New Efficiency Options.

Load Management

Demand Response Programs
PG&E's Demand Response provides businesses with rewards for voluntarily reducing energy use during peak demand events. By temporarily reducing your electricity use, you can also contribute to energy reliability in California and help PG&E avoid the need to trigger additional power plants when the demand for electricity outpaces supply. Self-Generation

California Solar Initiative
Through the CPUC's California Solar Initiative (CSI), PG&E provides businesses incentives for installing qualified solar systems. You may also be eligible for a federal tax credit to further offset solar installation costs. More information is available at Solar Energy.

Carbon Offset
PG&E’s ClimateSmart™ program provides businesses an opportunity to balance out their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through environmental conservation, restoration and protection projects. Pacific Energy Center – San Francisco
The Pacific Energy Center offers educational programs, design tools, advice, and support to create energy efficient buildings and comfortable indoor environments. More information is available at Pacific Energy Center.

Energy Training Center – Stockton
PG&E’s Energy Training Centers provides energy efficiency training for all residential and small commercial building professionals, including heating ventilation and air conditioning, contractors, builders, architects, engineers and code officials. PG&E’s Food Service Technology Center provides nationally-recognized energy efficiency consulting services to the commercial food service industry. California Mandates for Your Business
California’s energy efficiency standards for non-residential buildings were established in response to legislative mandates to help reduce California’s energy consumption. At PG&E, our energy management experts can help your organization meet state mandates that affect your business:

Title 24: State legislative mandate to reduce California’s energy consumption in non-residential buildings

Assembly Bill 1103: State legislative that requires benchmarking of commercial buildings being sold, leased, or re-financed.

Assembly Bill 32: the Global Warming Solutions Act, requiring California to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020.

Senate Bill 20-04: State legislative and Governor’s Executive Order related to California’s Green Building Initiative, which mandates 20% improvement in building performance by 2015 based on 2004 baselines.
